Andersen Quartz Installation Maximising Solar for a Returning Client

Andersen Quartz Installed By Green Sky Renewables

Project Highlights

Green Sky Renewables has recently completed the installation of an Andersen Quartz EV charger with Quartz Vision for one of our returning clients in Manchester. Earlier this year, we installed a full solar PV and battery system at their home. Now having their electric vehicle, they came back to us wanting a charging solution that could maximise the value of their solar investment particularly the ability to charge from excess generation instead of exporting it.

After assessing the property and discussing their priorities, we recommended the Andersen Quartz. Its compact, refined design sits neatly on the side of the property, offering a premium look without drawing attention. Beyond aesthetics, it integrates well with solar systems, enabling automatic EV charging from surplus solar that would otherwise be sent back to the grid. It can also make use of flexible EV tariffs from suppliers such as Octopus, allowing the client to charge at the lowest-cost times,

The Andersen app provides the client with full oversight of charging sessions, helping them track energy use, monitor performance, and optimise when and how their vehicle is charged.

Our Solution

For this installation, we followed a thorough, client-first approach. After revisiting the property to identify the ideal mounting position, we prepared the area to ensure a clean, compliant, and future-proof installation. The Andersen unit was then fitted securely, with the EV Ultra cabling neatly routed to protect the look of the property.

As approved Andersen installers, we ensured the charger was configured to read export from the client’s existing solar system—unlocking true solar-led EV charging. Once commissioned, we integrated the charger with the Andersen app and walked the client through the features, including how to monitor usage and take advantage of solar surplus or tariff-based charging windows.

The result is a system that performs exactly as they wanted: sleek, intelligent, and fully compatible with their solar setup.

The Outcome

The client now benefits from a fully installed Andersen Quartz Vision charger that blends perfectly with their home. The design choice complements the property, and the charger provides reliable, convenient EV charging without compromising aesthetics.

The key gain is functional: the charger now automatically diverts excess solar directly into the vehicle, reducing export and increasing self-consumption. Coupled with smart tariff capability, the client has more control over their energy costs and a far more efficient way to run their EV.

This installation demonstrates how a well-chosen charger, when paired with solar, can significantly improve the value and practicality of a renewable energy system.

Conclusion

It’s a strong testament to our work when clients return to us, knowing they’ll receive fair pricing, genuine care, and a team that takes the time to understand their needs. From the first conversation to the final installation, they trust us to protect their property and deliver with the same passion we have for the products we install.

By selecting the Andersen Quartz and integrating it with the client’s solar and battery system, we delivered a solution that performs efficiently, looks the part, and supports a forward-thinking, low-carbon lifestyle.

If you’re a homeowner, landlord or business owner looking for an EV charging solution that works intelligently with solar, enhances your property, and offers long-term reliability, speak to our team. We make modern, smart charging straightforward and effective.
